English for Academic Writing 1 course
Academic writing refers to the specific language and conventions used when writing papers, articles, and other scholarly works. This type of writing is typically used in academic settings, such as universities and research institutions, to convey complex information and ideas.
Several key characteristics of academic writing make it different from other types of writing.
English for Academic Writing 1 has been exclusively designed to address these issues. It is the introductory course in ZENITH lingo’s Academic English program and aims to help learners understand the key characteristics of academic style.
Certificate
Upon successful completion of the English for Academic Writing 1 course, learners will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Those who demonstrate active participation in at least 85% of the classes and achieve a score of 90% or higher on course assessments will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Achievement. These certificates serve as recognition of the student’s dedication and accomplishment in the course.
In academic writing, it is essential to use a formal writing style. That means avoiding contractions, using proper grammar and sentence structure, and avoiding slang or colloquial language.
In English for Academic Writing 1, you will learn sentence structure, grammar, and vocabulary. This will help you develop your skills and become more comfortable with more advanced writing techniques covered in other courses of ZENITH lingo’s Academic English program.
